Ally Johnson, Ma

I am currently a Psychology Associate at the St Petersburg Holistic Psychology Clinic supervised by Dr. Kimberly Carnall, receiving my Doctorate Degree (PsyD) in a Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. I have a passion for working with children, teens, and college students who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief/loss. I believe in the relationship between the client and therapist is foundational for growth and change to occur. I will be there with you every step of the way to helping you uncover challenges and beliefs keeping you stuck, while challenging you to grow beyond those limiting beliefs. I have experience working with grief and loss with adolescence and received training in substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and more. My therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, and compassionate but also truthful and direct in providing you with the support you need to heal. I have a desire to work with several different cultures, including specifically but not limited to, the Hispanic or Latinx population. After growing up in a majority white populated town, it was alienating being one of the only Hispanic families. Often overlooked or misunderstood, I aim to bring a culturally encouraging face to therapy. My goal is to build a relationship with you that creates the space for you to feel safe and understood. Within a collaborative therapeutic setting, we can work on identifying and tracking emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. If applicable, also processing past or current stressors. I aim to assist exploring your history, current difficulties, and goals for therapy. Then taking that information and matching a therapy style that best assists your goals.
